Accelerated Recovery Therapy Intensive

Focused Healing Through Extended EMDR Sessions

Sometimes, recurring therapy does not feel like enough time to address deeply rooted trauma, distressing memories, or patterns that continue to impact your life. An EMDR Therapy Intensive offers a focused, immersive approach designed to help you dedicate meaningful time and attention to your healing process.

We offer personalized 1-day, 2-day, and 3-day EMDR Therapy Intensives for those seeking deeper processing in a concentrated format. These intensives provide the opportunity to move beyond traditional session limits and engage in focused therapeutic work with dedicated time for preparation, processing, integration, and stabilization.

EMDR intensives are available for both existing clients and individuals who have a therapeutic relationship outside of our agency. For clients who already have an established therapist and wish to continue their ongoing care, the intensive is designed to complement—not replace—their existing therapeutic relationship. Following the intensive, clients may return to their referring therapist for continued, recurring therapy with recommendations and coordination provided, when appropriate and with written consent.

What Is EMDR Therapy?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based approach that helps the brain process and integrate distressing feelings, negative thoughts, experiences that may feel "stuck." Through a structured therapeutic process, EMDR can help reduce the emotional intensity of painful memories, shift negative beliefs, and support greater emotional regulation and healing.

EMDR is commonly used to address:

  • Traumatic experiences and related symptoms
  • Childhood trauma and attachment wounds
  • Anxiety and panic symptoms
  • Relationship trauma
  • Grief and loss
  • Distressing life events
  • Low self-worth and negative beliefs
  • Complex trauma
  • Depression
  • Eating Disorders/Disordered Eating

Why Choose an EMDR Intensive?

Many clients find that an intensive format allows them to:

  • Create dedicated space for focused healing
  • Minimize interruptions and distractions
  • Build momentum in trauma processing
  • Address specific treatment goals more efficiently
  • Experience deeper therapeutic work than traditional session formats allow
  • Integrate new insights and coping skills with professional support

An intensive may be especially beneficial for individuals who have limited availability, prefer concentrated treatment, are traveling for therapy, or feel ready to commit focused time toward healing. It can also serve as an adjunct to ongoing therapy, allowing clients to complete focused trauma processing before returning to their regular therapist for continued support.

What to Expect

Each EMDR Intensive is personalized based on your needs, goals, and readiness for trauma processing. Before scheduling an intensive, we will complete an initial consultation and assessment to determine whether this format is appropriate for you.

A focused day of therapeutic work designed for individuals who have specific treatment goals or are beginning their intensive healing process.

2-Day EMDR Intensive (12 hours of EMDR + prep/follow-up)

Provides additional time for deeper processing, integration, and addressing more complex treatment concerns.

3-Day EMDR Intensive (18 hours of EMDR + prep/follow-up)

Investment and Payment

EMDR Therapy Intensives are offered as a self-pay service and are not billed to insurance. Payment is due prior to the scheduled intensive, and payment plans may be available for qualifying clients.

Choosing a self-pay intensive allows us to create a personalized treatment experience that is guided by your clinical needs rather than insurance limitations. This approach provides the flexibility to dedicate extended, uninterrupted time for therapeutic processing, preparation, and integration.

Is an EMDR Intensive Right for You?

An EMDR Intensive may be a good fit if you:

  • Have completed or are ready for EMDR preparation
  • Feel ready to engage in focused therapeutic work
  • Want a more concentrated therapeutic experience
  • Have specific memories, feelings, and/or experiences you would like to address
  • Are seeking an alternative or supplement to recurring therapy
  • Are currently working with a therapist who would like to refer you for focused EMDR processing

An intensive may not be appropriate for everyone. During consultation, we will discuss your needs, readiness, and whether this approach aligns with your goals.

For Referring Therapists

EMDR Therapy Intensives are designed to complement the important work you are already doing with your clients—not replace your ongoing therapeutic relationship. If you have a client who would benefit from focused trauma processing in a concentrated format, we welcome the opportunity to collaborate with you.

With your client's written authorization, we will:

  • Consult with you before the intensive to understand your client's treatment goals and relevant clinical history.
  • Coordinate care, as appropriate, throughout the intensive process.
  • Provide a summary of the work completed, including treatment progress, recommendations, and considerations for ongoing therapy.
  • Transition your client back to your care for continued recurring therapy following the intensive.

Our goal is to provide specialized EMDR trauma processing while supporting continuity of care and honoring the therapeutic relationship you have established with your client. Together, we can help clients access focused trauma treatment while ensuring they return to the trusted support of their ongoing therapist.

Begin Your Healing Journey

You do not have to continue carrying the weight of painful experiences alone. An EMDR Therapy Intensive provides dedicated time and support to help you move toward healing, clarity, and meaningful change.

Whether you are seeking a focused healing experience or have been referred by your current therapist for specialized trauma processing, we welcome the opportunity to support you. If you plan to continue with your existing therapist after the intensive, we are happy to collaborate with them—with your written permission—to help ensure continuity of care.
